John Fekner

John Fekner (born 1950) is an American multimedia and street artist whose work addresses urban decay, environmental issues and public space through stencil and spray-paint interventions, video, sculpture and music. Fekner began his outdoor graffiti/stencil work in Jackson Heights: in 1968 he painted the phrase “Itchycoo Park” in large white letters at Gorman Park (85th Street Park) in Jackson Heights.
