A New Chapter for Queens Media
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Queens Media Collective – a new network bringing together the borough’s most passionate local creators, newsletter publishers, podcasters, and journalists.
Our mission is simple: to connect, collaborate, and celebrate those shaping the media landscape across Queens. Whether you run a neighborhood Substack, host a podcast about Queens culture, or share photo essays capturing community life – you’re part of the story we want to amplify.
Why Now
Queens has one of the most diverse, dynamic, and creative communities in the world – yet many of its storytellers work in silos. The Queens Media Collective was born from the belief that by connecting independent media makers and organizations, we can strengthen local storytelling, improve access to community information, and support each other’s growth.
The project kicked off through partnerships with Epicenter-NYC, Los Herederos Radio, Astoria Live, Eat in Queens, The Black Podcasters Association, and Jackson Heights Insider – with many more to come.
What We’ll Be Doing
The Collective will host regular meetups, panels, and collaborations that spotlight local journalism, podcasting, video, and digital storytelling. Here’s what’s already underway:
- Collaborative workshops focused on audience growth, funding, and creative storytelling
- An online directory connecting creators and community partners
- Cross-platform collaborations across newsletters, podcasts, and social media
